This volume provides an overview of the ‘building blocks’ of the material culture and history of the post-medieval period. Opening with discussions of the historical and archaeological context for post-1550 Ireland, including regional and international connections as well as a selection of urban overviews. The second part of this book focuses on in-depth examination of industrial, maritime and garden archaeology, followed by discussion of architecture and of a range of specific material and environmental analyses of value to the study of post-medieval Ireland.
